In short

This website collects nothing: no account, no form, no cookie, no analytics. The Last Ghoul, our PC game on Steam, keeps your progress on your own computer and sends us nothing. Our mobile games, such as Vanderplanck, show ads that you choose to watch and offer in-app purchases. This page explains exactly what that means, and how to stay in control.

What this website does

Nothing. comtosee.be has no form, no account, no cookie, no analytics and no advertising. Fonts, images and videos are hosted on the site itself, so no third-party service is called when a page loads. That is why you will not see a consent banner here. The buttons that point to Steam are plain links: nothing is sent to Valve until you click one.

Like any website, it is served by a host that automatically records technical logs (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type), used only for security and for keeping the site running. If you write to us, we keep your message so that we can answer it.

What The Last Ghoul does (PC, Steam)

Your saved games stay on your computer

The game stores your progress, your settings and your story choices locally, in a folder of your Windows user profile. That information is never sent to us. The game creates no account of its own, asks for no name, email address or location, contains no analytics and no advertising, and does not generate or exchange any content online while you play.

Steam

Buying, wishlisting, reviewing or playing the game through Steam involves your Steam account, which is operated by Valve Corporation as an independent controller. Valve processes your purchase history, playtime and, where the game offers them, Steam features such as achievements or cloud saves, under Valve’s privacy policy. We only receive from Valve aggregated sales and wishlist figures, which identify no one.

What the mobile games do (Vanderplanck)

The following applies to our mobile games on the App Store and on Google Play, from the moment they are available.

Your progress stays on your device

The current run, upgrades and settings are stored locally on your phone. That information is never sent to us and disappears if you uninstall the game. The game asks for no account, and never asks for your name, address or location.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The game shows rewarded ads: they only start if you press the button yourself, in exchange for a bonus. The basic loot is always available without ever watching an ad.

These ads are served by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited). To deliver and measure them, AdMob processes technical data: the device advertising identifier, IP address, device model, operating system version, and interactions with the ad. Google acts as an independent controller for ad delivery; details are in Google’s policy on partner sites.

Your consent. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a consent screen appears on first launch, managed by the Google User Messaging Platform. You may accept personalised ads or refuse them: if you refuse, the game shows non-personalised ads and remains fully playable. You can change your answer at any time from the game settings.

On iOS, if personalised ads require cross-app tracking, the system asks for your permission first through the App Tracking Transparency prompt. Refusing does not prevent you from playing. You can also reset or limit your advertising identifier in your phone settings: on iOS under “Privacy & Security”, on Android under “Google, Ads”.

In-app purchases

The game offers optional purchases. They are handled entirely by Apple or Google depending on your store. We never see your payment method or billing address: we only receive confirmation that a purchase took place, so that the matching content can be unlocked. Refunds are handled by the store where the purchase was made.

Stability and improvement

The game may use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) to find out where it crashes and which screens cause trouble. These tools process an installation identifier, device model, operating system version, game version, and aggregated usage events such as finishing a wave. They are not used to identify you personally and we do not combine them with any other source.

Referrals

No referral system is active at launch. If one is added, it will rely on a random code tied to your installation, with no name and no email address, and this page will be updated before it goes live.

Why, and on what legal basis

  • Running the games and the site — performance of the service and legitimate interest.
  • Showing personalised ads (mobile games) — your consent, collected in the game and revocable.
  • Showing non-personalised ads (mobile games) — legitimate interest in funding a free game.
  • Processing a purchase — performance of the contract, by the store concerned (Steam, Apple or Google).
  • Fixing crashes — legitimate interest in providing a game that works.
  • Answering your messages — legitimate interest, or pre-contractual steps.

Your data is never sold, rented or traded.

Who has access

  • Valve Corporation — distribution of The Last Ghoul on Steam, purchases, wishlists, reviews.
  • Google Ireland Limited — AdMob advertising and, where applicable, Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, in the mobile games.
  • Apple Distribution International and Google Ireland Limited — distribution of the mobile games and in-app purchases.
  • Netlify, Inc. — hosting of this website.
  • Our email provider — delivery of the emails you send us.

Some of these providers process data in the United States. Those transfers are covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long

On your computer or your phone: until you delete the saved games, erase the progress, or uninstall the game.

With Steam, Apple and Google: according to their own retention periods.

Advertising and technical data (mobile games): according to the retention periods applied by Google, generally a few months.

Host logs: a short period, for security purposes.

Your emails: three years at most after our last exchange.

Children

The Last Ghoul is a game for adults: it contains graphic violence and dark themes, as described on its store page, and is not directed at children. Our mobile games are not directed at children under 13, are not enrolled in Apple’s or Google’s families programmes, and we do not knowingly collect data about a child under 13. If you believe this has happened, write to us and we will delete that data.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object and to data portability, as well as the right to withdraw your advertising consent at any time from the settings of the mobile games.

To exercise these rights, write to contact@comtosee.be. We answer within one month. The detailed procedure is on the data deletion page.

If you believe your rights are not respected, you may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels — dataprotectionauthority.be.

Updates

This policy changes as the games and the law evolve. The date of the last update is at the top of the page. A significant change will be signalled on this site or inside the games. See also our legal notice.
